Nicolás Castro
Naturalist Guide & Wildlife Photographer
With a career dedicated to exploring and revealing the majesty of nature, Nicolás is one of the most experienced naturalist guides at Far South Expeditions. Since 2008, he has guided travelers through some of the most remote and fascinating landscapes in Chile and abroad, including the mystical Easter Island, the majestic Canadian territories, and especially the Magallanes Region and Torres del Paine National Park. His passion for wildlife photography, with a particular focus on mammals and birds, makes every outing a unique opportunity for nature and photography enthusiasts.
Graduated as a Technical Expert in Adventure Tourism from Inacap and with advanced mountain skills training from the College of the Rockies in Canada, Nicolás combines his deep technical knowledge with a genuine passion for the ecosystems he explores. His residence in Puerto Natales allows him to live and breathe the landscapes he admires so much: the Magellanic steppe and forest environment, home to iconic species like the puma, one of his favorite focuses on wildlife observation tours.
Travelers joining Nicolás can expect an enriching and detailed experience in every aspect of the journey. His favorite tours, which include puma watching, birdwatching, and photographic expeditions, are characterized by flawless organization and a deep connection with the natural surroundings, making each adventure a memorable trip in Chilean Patagonia.
