With a Master’s degree in Geography and extensive experience in education, Susanne brings to Far South Expeditions a deep understanding of ecosystems, from geology to fauna and meteorology. Her Swiss origins and professional training as a hiking guide in the Alps have given her a unique perspective, which she shares on every tour.

Susanne has lived in southern Chile since 2017. She worked as a whale watching tour guide in the Strait of Magellan for three seasons, before starting to work for Far South Expeditions in 2020. She now primarily leads expeditions all over Patagonia, including Tierra del Fuego, one of her favorite destinations.

Passionate about exploring mountains and forests, Susanne is an attentive and observant guide. She is committed to providing to her guests a deep and comprehensive experience, emphasizing the connections between landscape, climate and wildlife. Her fluency in English, German, French, along with her focus on the European market, allows more international visitors to discover the wild side of Chile and Patagonia.
