Our wildlife and wine tours in Chile and Argentina aim to combine the intriguing wildlife, habitat diversity, stunning scenery, fascinating culture and the terrific wines present in Chile and Argentina. Central Chile and Argentina are not just home to most of the endemic birds, mammals and plants present in both countries, but are also prime wine country, with some of the best terroirs in the world for growing wine grapes of different strains, most notably Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Malbec.
Our wildlife and wine tours in Chile and Argentina has been conceived so you can combine birdwatching and wildlife-viewing with in-depth tasting sessions visiting wine valleys such as Maipo, Casablanca and Colchagua in Chile and Mendoza (Lujan de Cuyo and Uco Valleys) and Salta (Cafayate) in Argentina, and the many wineries and vineyards where these fine beverages are concocted.
Birding here lives up to the wine quality; in Chile you will go out on a pelagic trip to the Pacific off Valparaíso to watch seabirds like Northern Royal Albatross, Peruvian Diving Petrel, Pink-footed Shearwater and White-chinned Petrel, and in land you’ll go looking for endemics of both countries, such as Chilean Mockingbird, Moustached Turca, Crag Chilia and Steinbach’s Canastero among others. A very good example of this combination is our annual Birds and Wines of Chile and Argentina trip which we have been running during the last six years. wildlife and wine tours in chile and argentina
