Diego Olivares
Naturalist Guide
Diego was born in Santiago, Chile, and from a young age, he was introduced to natural landscapes by his parents, who instilled in him a deep respect for the environment and the importance of protecting it. Now, residing in Puerto Natales for the past seven years, Diego finds daily inspiration for his work in Chilean Patagonia, constantly in awe of its landscapes and biodiversity.
As a guide in Torres del Paine National Park, Diego specializes in native wildlife observation, with a focus on the majestic Patagonian puma. For him, each excursion is an opportunity to connect visitors with this iconic animal, promoting a deep appreciation for wildlife.
His conservation career began five years ago when he took on the role of wildlife tracker, which solidified his commitment to informing and educating others about wildlife protection. Additionally, Diego is an enthusiast of nature photography, a tool he uses to teach and share his knowledge about the beauty and fragility of the natural world around us.
