JORGE VALENZUELA EDWARDS
Viticulturist – Birding & Photography Guide at Far South Expeditions
Born in Viña del Mar, Jorge is a professional viticulturist. His passion for birds began during childhood vacations in the countryside of central Chile. This early connection with nature led him to study and work in agriculture, a field that allowed him to stay close to the outdoors.
In 1993, he joined UNORCH (Chilean Ornithologists Association), deepening his knowledge of birds. Over time, he became a self-taught wildlife photographer, focusing especially on the central Andes and, more recently, southern Chile and Patagonia. His images are the result of years spent in the field, documenting Chile’s birdlife and landscapes.
Today, Jorge is part of the Far South Expeditions team, guiding birding and photography tours throughout Chile and Patagonia. He also curates the photo galleries on our website and contributes to the wildlife blog with his images and articles. His work blends ornithological knowledge, artistic sensitivity, and a deep passion for nature. In his free time, he enjoys mountaineering, cycling, and fly-fishing.
